I have always been so inspired by the woman in the jewish comunity at how well and how easy they make it look to be such a role model to other woman, jewish or not. Always making sure to get woman to be part of a community and supporting one another is truly remarkable and i've always looked up to the women in my community who do such a great job at it. Now, having created my own family with my husband, it means much more to me than it ever did before. I see the amazing things that happen daily when woman join each other and spread their love and selflesssness with others. I didnt know the approach I wanted to take in order to become more involved in my community, so I had some wonderful advice from some great woman and recommended a challah bake in honor of a young man who needed help. Help from his community for support while he and his young family was struggling due to health reasons I will not disclose for personal reasons. A week after finalizing with a few woman that I will be hosting a challah bake at my home, it was beyond a successful night! 20 women came together and with everyone having a person in mind to pray for and give blessings for, it was not only a social event but such a meaningful one. Being able to personally bring together a handful of women from diverse backgrounds, communities, and religious groups to generate Jewish unity was my way of giving back to the community who taught me so much of what I know. It felt so refreshing for the soul to feel the importance of prayer. If there is anything I believe in, it is the strength of prayer. If you have ever wanted to give back, not knowing how but willing, I find that this is a great way to start! Even if you have no idea where to start or how to start, reach out to woman!
