 You will need //

Mashed Potatoes, peeled & already mashed (you can prepare this however you enjoy)

Bag of Mini Red Potatoes

Cilantro (For final touch)

Salt & Pepper (you can add any other spices you would like)

Potato Peeler

 Directions //

As you can see in the photo above, I lined up all of my mini tarts, and I filled it with  a teaspoon of mashed potatoes. I added nothing but salt in my mashed potatoes, since it was my first time making this, I wanted to start off with the basics.

Then, I prepared a bowl half filled with water and the lemon juice. I cut the potatoes in half and used my potato peeler to thinly cut these potatoes. I Leave the peel so it will give the red color to your roses.

After that, I carefully placed my thinly cut potato slices in a continuous circular motion just like a rose looks! This is what is most time consuming, but once you have a few of them finished the time suddenly gets cut in half since you get the hang of it.

A dozen roses later... You stick the tarts on LOW BROIL let the top of the roses get golden brown and remove them! After, you stick little Cilantro pieces on each rose (as if the stem of a rose) Sprinkle with salt & pepper and you are done. This is a great go to appetizer for dinner parties, or social gatherings where you want to wow your guests! Yes, my flavors are basic, and you can make this however you want! i hope you enjoy this recipe! please comment on your recommendations and tag us at HomeOverHouse on Instagram so we can see your beautiful creation! xo
