Pink Challah for a Pink Princess Birthday!

This Shabbats Challah special features a bright pink Challah specially made for a little princesses friday night dinner birthday! Of course, pink is a girls favorite color and I figured I would make this due to how easy it would be and how much they would love it!

Now, for the challah recipe, just go on my blog to find the classic challah recipe.

The only thing left that you need besides the ingredients to make the challah dough is the food coloring. I bought mine from Fresh Market since The natural one they carry has none of that horrible aftertaste. I suggest you get yours from there if it is available to you.

Next, I just added a few drops of the red coloring dye, and I just kept adding until the color fit right.

If you want it to be bright pink, just keep adding the dye until the color is to your liking.

Once I braid my pink challah, I don't coat it with anything. I just stick it in the oven for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Once it is about 80 percent cooked, I took my challah out of the oven and coated it with

- 2 Tablespoons of Honey

-2 drops of Food coloring

Adding this coating will add an extra bright tone to the challah since after baking it, it dulls a bit. The coated honey adds a nice coat of shine and softness to the challah.

If you would like, you can also sprinkle some rainbow sprinkles once you have coated it.

Then, take it out of the oven once it is fully baked and, VOULA! You have yourself a pink challah! You can actually do any color you would like! I am looking forward to making a rainbow challah and an ombre challah next! Check out our blog on Fridays to see our latest specialty challah!
